Compensation: $20 per hour and $3,000 scholarship for the academic year

Job Summary

This graduate assistantship will be dedicated to student engagement, leadership development, and community development. Specifically, the position will be supporting, promoting and organizing community building activities on all campuses. This position starts in the Fall 2026 semester.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement special events and programs throughout the year to address specific diversity, leadership development and wellness needs in collaboration with the Director of Campus and Residential Life, Resident Assistant team, student organizations, and other campus partners.
  • Coordinate the room reservation process for student organizations.
  • Recruit and retain registered student organizations.
  • Work with the Director of Campus and Residential Life and Dean of Students to provide guidance and advice to the Student Union of Naropa (student government) and their events and programs.
  • Co-coordinate the annual Student Engagement Awards Celebration in conjunction with the Graduate Assistant for Residential Life, the Director of Campus and Residential Life and the Division of Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success.
  • Assist with co-curricular leadership programming.
  • Collaborate with other programs and departments to create involvement and learning opportunities for students.
  • Assist with strategic planning for the Office of Campus and Residential Life.
  • Function in the professional staff on-call rotation for the Office of Campus and Residential Life.
  • Assist in management of the Food Pantry.
  • Participate in research, assessment and benchmarking activities, as assigned.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Naropa University graduate student in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Problem‑solving acumen.
  • Desire to help students be successful.
  • All job candidates must demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of and appreciation for the values of Naropa University and the capacity to demonstrate an integration and embodiment of these values as evidenced in work, communication, collaboration styles, and other general workplace behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in student activities, programming and leadership development or residence life strongly preferred.
  • Experience advising and/or supervising students and student staff preferred.

    During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: lift up to 15 pounds, stand, walk, sit, interruptions/distractions, and heat/cold.

Part‑time employees with 20–29 hours per week may also receive disability, life insurance, and retirement benefits. Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible only for the retirement plan with 2.5% matching.
