Job Summary

The Office of the Registrar at CU Boulder welcomes applications for the Degree Management System Analyst position! The Registrar's Office is committed to the delivery of quality, student-centered enrollment, and academic support services by facilitating the development, enhancement, maintenance, and campus-wide use of the Boulder Degree Management System. As custodians of student records and enrollment data, this unit also provides judicious management and dissemination of student data to campus partners.

This includes students, faculty, staff, and administrators including deans and academic departments to create and maintain degree audits from approved curriculum, advise academic and departmental staff on curriculum development and its impact on degree programs. This unit works with campus leadership to establish priorities for system changes as needed to the degree management system.

What Your

Key Responsibilities Will Be Degree Audit Building, Curriculum Evaluation and Management, Trouble‑Shooting, Maintenance, & Special Projects
  • Degree audit curriculum analysis and degree audit building. Design and code degree audits using information on academic programs and graduation requirements approved during the annual academic update cycle in CIM for Programs. Interpret all requirements and then translate them for use in the degree management system. Work with others in the unit to compile and analyze academic program, department, and curriculum or course requirements by examining and evaluating departmental literature to define necessary elements for audit design and coding.
  • Communicate with the degree audit contacts in the college/school for guidance with how to address challenges in interpreting and translating the curriculum and policies for each college/school.
  • Code changes into existing audits to accommodate identified adjustments and ongoing curriculum and requirement changes. Create new degree audits when new curriculum or programs are approved in CIM for Programs.
  • Participate in the testing of new and revised audits, by using diagnostic skills and involving departmental staff/advisors to clarify necessary adjustments, when needed.
  • Collaborate with deans and academic staff to verify the accuracy of each degree audit.
  • Develop test plans for the degree management system, including various scenarios such as changes to programs, new programs, degree management software changes, and student information system changes. Provide testing and feedback of degree audits when new audits or changes are coded, before degree management system upgrades, student information system upgrades, or when other impacts to degree management tools may occur. Working in conjunction with the college/school degree audit/advisement leads, as appropriate.
  • Understand course inventory structure in People Soft Campus Solutions, and contribute to the maintenance of approved course changes within the degree management system that impact degree audits. Collaborate with the transfer credit team to ensure the transfer rules are up to date when course changes are made.
  • Maintain degree audit communications, documentation and training materials for students or faculty/staff target audiences.
  • Participate in a campus review of degree requirements, processes, and procedures to develop standards and consistencies.
  • Participate in campus and university meetings that may impact the functionality of degree management tools representing the unit's interests.
  • Assist with the development of an annual degree audit maintenance plan for term specific updates outside of the annual academic updates.
  • Attend training sessions and webinars, specific to degree audit and planner coding.
  • Assist the unit with degree audit specific projects as needed.
Degree Audit Reporting
  • Assist with degree audit college/school and individual program batch runs.
  • Assist with reporting of student/advisor usage, eligible/ineligible, readmitted students, exception, and end of term processing.
