Exempt/Salaried. FTE: 8% (3 hrs/week). Compensation: $225 per course credit. Final date to receive applications: 4/1 or until filled.
The Department of Religious Studies seeks to hire one academic support for Fall 2026 courses. These courses vary in credit hours and will be taught as either onsite residential courses or online courses (or both) for the entire semester, August 24, 2026 through December 11, 2026.
Course Descriptions- REL‑321/REL‑535/321e/535e—Kabbalah and Hasidism Emotions (3 Credits) – An in‑person hybrid course meeting from August 24 to December 11, 2026. A historical‑experiential introduction to the history, beliefs, and practices of Kabbalah and Hasidism, exploring the development of Jewish mysticism relative to normative Judaism, with an emphasis on contemplative study of texts, practices, and spiritual transformation. Cross‑listed as REL‑535/REL‑535e.
- Monitor and assist in the instruction of classes.
- Coordinate and lead optional group sessions.
- Support the faculty of record and/or guest teacher as needed.
- Assist faculty with recording grades for course assignments.
- Assist faculty with development of the online course on CANVAS Learning Management System.
- Assist faculty with preparation and delivery of instruction.
- Provide technological support for CANVAS, Zoom, and email communications.
- Complete required faculty and staff trainings as set by Human Resources, Academic Affairs, or Information Technology/Distance Learning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Religious Studies, Yoga Studies, Master of Divinity, or a related field (prior relevant experience may substitute for degree).
- Familiarity with religious and contemplative education and specific course content.

- Demonstrated understanding of Naropa University values and capacity to provide a rigorous clinical approach in communication, collaboration, and workplace behaviors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close team with course instructor and students.

Academic support members spend most time in classrooms or virtual meetings, occasionally in offices. May encounter interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust, or dampness. Tasks include reading academic texts, operating computer and audio‑visual equipment, standing or sitting for hours, and moving around campus. - Online:
Members engage students through virtual meetings and online assessments, reading academic texts, operating computer and audio‑visual equipment, and sitting or standing for hours.
