Undergraduate Transfer Student Recruitment Coordinator

The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) at CU Boulder invites applications for the Undergraduate Transfer Student Recruitment Coordinator position! The purpose of this position is to coordinate student recruitment initiatives and programs in (A&S) in order to optimize admissions by attracting high-quality students to the College of Arts and Sciences. This position will serve as a point of contact for prospective undergraduate students and parents with a special emphasis on prospective transfer students and undergraduate transfer student initiatives.

Other activities include providing admissions-related support and information to first-year prospective students and planning recruitment events. This position works closely with the Recruitment Program Manager and Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Student Resources and will help the A&S Recruitment Team develop and implement programming for the recruitment of new students to the College of Arts & Sciences, outreach to campus and external units regarding A&S initiatives and achievements, and the welcoming and persistence of students within A&S.

Key Responsibilities Will Be

Student Recruitment Coordination

  • Works closely with the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) Recruitment Program Manager and Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Student Resources to develop and implement targeted recruitment efforts by attending onsite, local, and national events for recruitment.
  • Staffs and presents at On-campus Admissions Events (e.g. Discover CU, Explore CU, Admitted Buffs Day, Admitted Student Day).
  • Responds to prospective student and parent inquiries and provides information regarding A&S opportunities and programs.
  • Develops visibility for A&S within the state through events at community colleges or presentations
  • Creates strategies and materials to foster positive branding for A&S.
  • Stays up-to-date on literature regarding recruitment trends and strategies with special emphasis on access and recruiting of first-generation students, traditionally underserved populations and women students to A&S.

Transfer Student Liaison and Pre-transfer Advising

  • This person will be the primary liaison and subject-matter guide for A&S transfer student admissions policies, in the internal review of incoming first-year and transfer student applications,

This person will also:

  • Serve on the campus Transfer Community of Practice Committee;
  • Works within Slate to review transfer applicant application materials and produce reports;
  • Maintains familiarity with and effectively communicates A&S Intra-University-Transfer (IUT) policies, curriculum and the IUT application process;
  • Assists prospective A&S students with questions about IUT eligibility, registration, pre-advising, transfer credits, etc.;
  • Coordinates individual and group session needs and is available for campus events related to transfer student and drop-in visits from prospective students and families.

Communication and Campus-Wide Engagement

  • Engage with the Office of Admissions and other Colleges on the CU Boulder campus to determine and implement best practices regarding undergraduate recruitment back to A&S.
  • Represents A&S in a variety of recruiting events and settings by attending high school and/or community college presentations, in- and out-of-state college fairs, and on-campus visits and events. Speaks knowledgeably about the College and answers questions from prospective students and parents.

Student Ambassador Program and Other

  • Assists the Undergraduate Student Program manager in training the A&S Student Ambassadors in support of A&S on-campus visit programs and A&S tours. Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You Should Know

This position adheres to the A&S hybrid work policy that requires a minimum of 3 days per week on campus. Some evening and weekend work will also be required.

What We Can Offer

The annual salary for this full-time position is $50,000 - $56,000. Onboarding assistance may be available for this position per department guidelines.
