The French Language Institute of Boulder, LLC is looking for French instructor for adult

learners and/or children. Instructors in this role teach fun, engaging, interactive, and culturally

rich French classes that emphasize conversation, comprehension, and practical language use.

This position is designed for instructors who are passionate about teaching, experienced in

French instruction, and skilled in creating a supportive, motivating, and safe learning

environment
. Experience teaching children is a plus and may lead to opportunities to teach

our youth programs.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver age-appropriate French lessons for adults and/or children across
  • Conduct classes primarily in French to promote immersion and conversational practice
  • Prepare lesson plans, activities, and instructional materials in alignment with Institute
  • Adapt teaching methods to learners’ individual needs, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
  • Facilitate discussions about French language, culture, and customs
  • Maintain professional communication with students, families (if applicable), and program leadership
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of all student and organizational information
  • Uphold all professional expectations; the Institute reserves the right to end assignments if an instructor is not a good fit for the program or students
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years teaching French to youth/adult learners in formal instructional settings
  • Master’s degree in French, French Education, or closely related field (Bachelor’s with equivalent experience considered)
  • Native or near-native fluency in French
  • Proven ability to design interactive lessons and adapt teaching to diverse learners
  • Strong interpersonal skills: compassionate, patient, positive, and motivating
  • Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Preferred
  • Experience teaching in-person and/or online children or youth programs
  • Familiarity with online/hybrid teaching environments
  • Knowledge of contemporary French culture and trends
Legal & Employment Information
  • This is a part-time, hourly role
    ; no benefits are offered
  • All employment is at-will
    , in accordance with Colorado labor law; either party may terminate the assignment at any time
  • Instructors must comply with all applicable labor laws, child protection requirements, and workplace safety regulations
  • Candidates will be required to provide documentation of age (18+) and any background checks or clearances required for working with minors

  • Instructors are responsible for compliance with any local, state, and federal regulations applicable to teaching and program delivery
