PRE-EMPLOYMENTREQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIESSUMMARY:
Guest Teachers are an integral part of the Jeffco team to ensure there is a quality teacher in every classroom. Responsible for the delivery of specified course content in the absence of the classroom teacher. Responsible for providing a safe educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. School Based Guest Teachers work for the full school year at a single school site.
- Follow defined lesson plans set forth by classroom teacher.
- Provide an impromptu lesson plan or activity in the absence of teacher provided lesson plan.
- Assist students with their coursework and communicate assignment expectations.
- Adapt instructional approach to the individual needs of the students.
- Provide a safe learning environment and deploy proper classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with other instructional staff, including social workers, speech language pathologists, Special Education teachers, etc., as needed.
- Perform teaching related duties of the assigned school including covering another class during an absent teacher's planning period, lunchroom duty, hall duty, bus duty and/or playground duty.
- Assist with school-wide assessments including CSAP, ACT, and Acuity if necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
