Street Wise Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in Boulder, CO, dedicated to using public art as a tool for community engagement and social change. The organization creates mural projects, community events, and youth education programs that enhance the urban environment and invite dialogue around activism and diversity. Street Wise Arts prioritizes equity and representation for artists, ensuring that marginalized voices are visible in public spaces.

The team collaborates across sectors to build meaningful partnerships and contribute to a vibrant, diverse cultural landscape. Teaching Artists joining the organization will be part of a mission-driven community that values creativity, inclusion, and public impact.

Street Wise Arts seeks creative, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Artists to lead inclusive arts education programs for diverse youth. Teaching Artists foster creativity, self-expression, and skill development, and community connection while building meaningful relationships and serving as positive role models. Programs take place in schools, community centers, after-school programs, and alternative education settings. Artists should be adaptable to diverse learning styles, communication needs, and abilities.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

• Develop and lead creative art enrichment programs and curriculum for youth ages 6–14.
• Create welcoming and inclusive learning environments by adapting lesson plans, materials, and teaching approaches to support students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
• Manage groups of 10-25 youth at one time.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with program staff regarding student engagement, project progress, and program needs.
• Document program outcomes through participant attendance and photographic records to support grant reporting and evaluation.

• Professional experience as a visual artist, muralist, educator, or teaching artist.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to teach and communicate effectively in both languages.
• Understanding and experience with inclusive teaching practices, differentiated instruction, and accessibility principles.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to pass any required background checks.
• Have your own transportation to Boulder, Colorado.

$35-$65 per hour, commensurate with experience. Plus 4 hours of curriculum development and a supply stipend.
