Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This site specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense. This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.

Senior Fabrication Process Engineer to sustain and improve fabrication processes in single-point diamond turning for successful execution of production optics manufacturing.

• Serves as a technical subject matter expert for optical component fabrication processes.
• Creates and improves documentation for the manufacturing of optical components.
• Hands-on engineering support training technicians on the execution of fabrication processes.
• Monitors and drives improvement of production fabrication processes and equipment using SPC.
• Supports troubleshooting of existing fabrication processes.
• Helps review, disposition, and reduce non-conforming material.
• Assists in the transfer of optical fabrication process technologies from R&D to production.
• Identifies, justifies, and qualifies new equipment into production.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.).
• 10+ years of optical component fabrication experience desirable.
• Proficiency with Solid Works or other CAD software desirable.
• Proficiency with SPC desirable.
• Experience with optical alignment and bonding desirable.
• Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, RC/CA) desirable.

Pay Range: $105, per year, depending on experience.
