ABOUTTHE ROLE
Norton Gold Fields is seeking an Underground Planning Engineer to support the strategic growth of our underground operations. This role contributes directly to life-of-mine planning, major project studies, due diligence assessments, mine design, optimisation, and cost modelling. As a core member of the Technical Services team, you will help ensure our underground operations remain safe, productive, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
You will also provide technical coverage in the absence of the Senior Underground Planning Engineer.
- Assist with Life-of-Mine designs, development and production schedules.
- Support due diligence assessments and feasibility studies for major UG projects.
- Contribute to mine design, stope optimisation, and cost estimation work.
- Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts to progress technical studies.
- Prepare regular technical reports, planning updates, and operational inputs.
- Identify improvement opportunities across design, planning processes, and productivity.
- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and active participation in site initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement and technical innovation aligned with company strategy.
- Provide technical assistance for operational queries and project execution as required.
- Bachelor of Mining Engineering (essential).
- ~2 years underground operational or technical experience (planning exposure highly regarded).
- Understanding of UG geology, ventilation, mine services, Geotech, and basic stope design principles.
- Familiarity with WHS Act 2020 & WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.
- Proficient with MS Office;
Deswik experience desirable.
- Permanent full-time role with immediate start.
