DescriptionAs a CMM & Quality Inspector at Impulse, you will possess a comprehensive know-how of quality control, component inspection, and programming of inspection equipment. This role is tasked with working directly with various inspection tools including CMMs, Romer Arms, 3D scanning equipment, optical comparators and other fundamental inspection gauges. You will interface with engineering teams/leadership, and machinists to optimize part quality and improve the procedures that make and validate them.
Responsibilities- Down select and procure inspection equipment to support current and future component inspection needs.
- Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality. Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy.
- Set up Romer ARM or CMM to achieve the desired inspection.
- Identify engineering and design GD&T issues and errors creating ambiguity in the manufacturing and inspection process.
- Work with cross functional teams to apply process improvement.
- Read GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.
- Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements.
- Complete inspections of flight & development hardware.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 6+ years of CMM programming experience.
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience with Calypso software or similar for programming CMMs.
- 9+ years of CMM experience, including programming on multi-sensing CMMs (vision, laser, touch probe, etc.).
- Familiar with Heidenhain/Siemens/Fanuc CNC control for on-machine probing.
- Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficiencies.
- Understands and adheres to ISO 9001.
- Able to read and understand all drawing criteria, GD&T, notes and tolerances.
- Experience with set-up of CMM or Romer Arm.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full‑time hires, you may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
