Overview
Norton Gold Fields is currently seeking two Mine Geologists to join our operations, based in Kalgoorlie. These are separate, permanent full-time positions
, offering the opportunity to work in either an underground or open pit environment within a stable owner-operator business.
LOCATION:
Kalgoorlie/Boulder (Residential Only) | 8:6 Roster | Permanent Full-Time
Based at our underground operations (Tuart / Enterprise), this role supports safe and efficient underground production through accurate geological data collection, interpretation and reporting.
- Underground production geology and grade control duties
- Sampling, mapping and geological data management
- Daily ore production reporting
- Project work supporting resource definition and mine planning
- Liaison with Mining, Survey, Engineering and Drilling teams
- Supporting safety reporting and compliance
- Supervision and mentoring of samplers or technicians where required
Based across our open pit operations (including Federal), this role focuses on grade control, production support and optimisation of ore extraction across multiple pits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Open pit production geology and grade control
- Geological sampling, interpretation and data management
- Supervision of grade control drilling and pit technicians
- Ore block creation, mark-ups and post-blast ore delineation
- Daily ore production reporting and weekly planning support
- Liaison with Mining, Survey, Engineering and Blasting teams
- Supporting safety and operational compliance
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production mining environment (UG or OP)
- Experience with geological sampling, mapping and data management
- Exposure to 3D mining software (Surpac or similar)
- Experience with laser mark-ups (desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Satisfactory NPC / police clearance
- Membership with AusIMM or AIG
- Experience with production tracking software
- Roster: 8:6
- Residential: Kalgoorlie / Boulder Residential, no FIFO
