• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in security engineering, with 8 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams.
• Experience as a senior leader or equivalent at a technology or cloud company.
• Domain experience in two of: product security, incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering, or fraud and abuse.

• Proven ability to lead and influence in a large, cross‑functional environment.
• Ability to build relationships and lead through influence, both with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to provide detailed technical guidance to the team, enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time and within budget.
• Ability to inspire and motivate the team to work together toward a technical vision.
• Passion for technology and technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them.

Google Cloud is the most trusted cloud platform, offering GCP, Workspace, and AI services. Its Cloud Security Engineering organization, led by the Vice President of Cloud Security Engineering, focuses on securing the cloud, the customer, and the planet.

In this role, you will lead a security engineering organization across GCP, Workspace, and technical infrastructure, responsible for product security engineering, incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering standards, and fraud and abuse.

Base salary: $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation details are provided in the U.S. base salary only; bonus, equity, and benefits are additional.

• Set and drive security engineering strategy with Google Cloud leadership, build relationships and partner with internal and external stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to the security engineering team.
• Support growth across all products, geographies, AI-driven innovation, and secure digital transformations to cloud and AI adoption.
• Collaborate with teams that provide critical services to achieve security outcomes for Google Cloud and lead dedicated Google Cloud security engineering teams.
