Technical/Functional Skills
* Strong experience in softgoods tooling design including fixtures, cutting tools, bonding tools, forming aids, jigs, and assembly fixtures
* Hands-on expertise in CAD modeling for softgoods (2D patterns & 3D geometry) using tools such as Rhino, Solid Works, Creo or equivalent
* Solid understanding of textiles, microfibers, synthetics, silicone, polymers, and adhesives
* Experience translating industrial design intent into manufacturable tooling concepts
* Familiarity with DFM / DFx principles for softgoods and rapid prototype environments
* Ability to support fast iteration cycles (EVT/DVT/NPI-style builds)
Roles & Responsibilities
* Study product drawings, specs, and industrial design intent for phone cases, wallets, watch bands, audio straps, and accessories
* Generate tooling concepts and CAD models for softgoods fabrication and assembly
* Convert product concepts into manufacturable tooling solutions for prototyping and PDF builds
* Support pattern engineering by converting 3D geometry into 2D constructs where applicable
* Collaborate with:
o Prototype assembly/fabrication teams
o Machine technicians
o Product testing teams
* Support DFM reviews, tolerance checks, and tooling feasibility assessments
* Enable rapid iteration to compress build cycles and reduce rework
Cross Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Engineering, Prototyping, Fabrication, Testing, and Factory-support teams
* Act as the bridge between design intent and shop floor execution
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
* Committed to meeting stringent deadlines
* Proactive driven and result oriented
* Ability to find solutions with network
Must have
* Soft goods Prototype Development, Textile Engineering, Pattern Engineering, Cut and Sew, EVT / DVT, Wearables / Consumer Electronics, Silicone Prototyping, Polymer Prototyping, Design for Manufacturability (DFM / DFx),CAD (Rhino, Solid Works, Creo),Hardware Integration,Rapid Prototyping,Validation Testing and NPI / New Product Introduction
Pre-Screening Questionnaire
* Exposure to consumer electronics softgoods or wearable ecosystems
* Experience supporting EVT/DVT or pilot production builds
* Check availability, appropriate level of relevant experience etc.
Salary Range: $70,000-$105,000 a year
