Overview
NIST is seeking a Location-Based Services Lead to serve as the principal engineer and technical authority for pioneering research and technology programs related to the use of in-door Location-Based Services (LBS) for Public Safety Communications.
Basic RequirementsIn addition to the above basic requirement, this position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑14 (ZP‑4 at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as performing research, development, testing, analysis, or implementation activities related to Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies, including Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), navigation and localization systems, indoor positioning and tracking technologies, and the analysis of navigation or location‑based data.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be credited.
