As a Mechanical System Engineer, you will work with business development and program management teams to shape multiple satellite missions simultaneously, each boasting a unique multi‑payload configuration. Your role will traverse boundaries across program management, systems engineering, discipline engineering, and AI&T to contribute to our satellite missions and drive impactful solutions in the evolving space industry.

• Technical lead for mechanical system design and subsystem procurements
• Create and maintain CAD models while collaborating with internal teams and customers to conduct mechanical layout
• Perform system optimization trades by analyzing system performance and maintaining technical budgets
• Oversee spacecraft‑level structural and thermal analysis
• Engage closely with internal teams and customers to craft and manage system specifications and verification techniques, ensuring alignment with ambiguous customer requirements
• Provide support to program management and product management, serving as a liaison with customers to ensure smooth program execution
• Conduct inspections and reviews of engineering documents and hardware
• Extend expertise to support test planning and actively participate in the integration and test campaigns at our spacecraft manufacturer’s site, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards

• Active Top Secret clearance is required and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required
• Preference will be given to candidates with a DoD or Intelligence Community Top Secret background investigation with at least 3 years of eligibility remaining or CE status; and SCI eligibility with current experience in SCI programs and/or Special Access Programs
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Have comprehensive system‑level knowledge and experience in mechanical subsystems

• Prior experience delivering a spacecraft to orbit and/or space‑qualified hardware to a customer
• Have 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with detailed knowledge of spacecraft structures
• Detailed understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Proficiency with Solidworks or similar CAD software
• Pragmatic vibration testing experience (pre‑test inputs, test oversight, data reduction, report generation)

Salary Range: $131,750 USD - $178,250 USD
