The BAE Vibration Lab simulates extreme environmental, shock, and load conditions that hardware encounters during launch, vehicle separation, flight, marine operations, and ground transportation. Technician IV
- Vibration Test will be responsible for testing and monitoring components with dynamic vibration equipment. These tests will support engineering development and production. Tasks may require practical knowledge in the testing of a wide variety of company products and systems. Tasks may include operating, maintaining, and monitoring complex vibration and shock test equipment.
What You'll Do:
- Execute dynamics testing for internal and external customer's state-of-the-art products
- Understand and communicate test requirements, procedures, facility capabilities, equipment capabilities, and fundamentals of vibration and shock test operations.
- Provide direct technical support to a team, including engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Prepare and maintain required test logs, data logs, electronic-build documents, records, and reports in accordance with BAE Systems policies and government regulations.
- Review and accurately interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures for completeness and compliance requirements.
- Perform troubleshooting of and maintenance on complex vibration and shock test equipment.
- Apply computer skills to access and input data via computer interface or automated equipment.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Ability to be versatile and contribute well to high-energy team environments.
- Ability to self-start with high attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Aerospace knowledge and aptitude is required.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Ability to be trained to obtain specialized certifications required (Overhead Crane, Forklift, Fastener Torque, Cleanroom, ESD, FOD, etc.)
- Ability to apply basic computer skills to access and input data via computer interface or automated equipment. Must have workable knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Capable of performing mathematical calculations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $66017 - $105628
