Job Summary:

The Corrosion Technician will provide support in a range of technical and operational assignments including direct and indirect inspections, analysis, corrosion mitigation, collecting and reporting inspection data, monitoring equipment installation, cathodic protection installation, coating application, liquid and coupon sample collections, chemical treatment oversight, and special projects. Candidates will be required to have good working knowledge of corrosion monitoring and mitigation processes.

This position is located in Western Midstream’s South Texas Region.

Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the internal corrosion control industry
  • Prefer AMPP (NACE) Cathodic Protection Tester (CP1), Cathodic Protection Technician (CP
    2) certification or Internal Corrosion for Pipelines (Advanced) certifications
  • Effective verbal and listening skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Time management skills
  • Competent computer skills including work-related software packages
Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to WES Core Values, policies, and safety standards
  • Perform corrosion control testing, inspections, and surveys (CP, CIS, ACVG, DCVG, PCM, pipe-to-soil)
  • Conduct coating inspections and corrosion monitoring activities
  • Collect and analyze field samples and corrosion data (H₂S, CO₂, O₂, MIC)
  • Maintain field equipment and support corrosion testing programs
  • Assist with chemical injection design, field testing, and project support
  • Compile and submit field data and reports for review
  • Support multiple projects while working independently or collaboratively
  • Apply industry standards, PHMSA regulations, and AMPP (NACE) best practices
  • Maintain OQ compliance and promote pipeline safety and damage prevention
  • Adapt to changing work environments and operational needs
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications / Licenses:
  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Travel Requirements:
  • This percentage of travel required for this position is 0% - 10%.
  • Candidate must live within 50 miles of Carrizo Springs, TX.
Work Schedule:
  • The standard schedule for this position is 4/40 or 5/40 Monday - Friday.
