THE WORK Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Network Engineer with a Secret clearance to work from our Boulder, CO location.

SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States' missile-warning architecture. By delivering near-real-time, high-confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life-saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision-making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command-and-control assets.
The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground-station platform that supports both SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations. In this role you will work closely with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra-reliable, secure, and scalable ground-systems that enable continuous infrared surveillance and missile-warning capabilities for legacy and next-generation satellite constellations.

* Designs and plans network communications systems.
* Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
* Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
* Conducts testing of network design.
* Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

Basic Qualifications
• Design, build, test and troubleshoot network systems
• Active Final Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• A fast learner who as had ability to work in a team setting, in addition to the ability to receive taskings from the team and drive to completion independently
• Foundational Understanding of:
- Routing and switching protocols - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
- Firewall policies
- Network administration
- Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching platforms
- Network maintenance and troubleshooting tools including but not limited to Wireshark, Splunk, Infoblox NetMRI
• Familiar with DISA STIG checklist and hardening Layer 2 and Layer 3…
