Credit Ratings is an integral part of the Global Ratings Services team, comprising a diverse group of 1,400 analysts across key financial hubs worldwide. Your role involves evaluating the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures, analyzing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash‑flow mechanics, and downside stress scenarios. Analysts produce opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, providing market‑relevant perspectives on performance trends, issuance conditions, and the role of AI in origination and securitization.
In this role you will support the new issue and surveillance end‑to‑end analysis of residential mortgage‑backed securities (RMBS) across multiple sub‑asset types.
Responsibilities- Develop credit judgement through feedback, coaching and standard methodologies; reinforce standard ways of working to improve consistency and trust.
- Support AI‑enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and automations that support judgement, reduce rework and accelerate delivery.
- Guide junior colleagues on routines, quality standards, and effective use of approved tools.
- Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives.
- Innovate by challenging existing processes, leveraging new tools, and applying fresh perspectives to complex data and problem‑solving.
- Own delivery for assigned credits with clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks and dependencies to ensure decision‑ready outputs.
- Maintain ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, synthesizing developments into insights that support analytical discussions and committee materials with clear evidence.
- Build and maintain analytical packs using standard templates; apply automation to reduce rework while retaining human ownership of conclusions.
- Use approved GenAI/LLM tools as an enabler for research, comparison and drafting.
- Collect, reconcile and validate data; identify anomalies and gaps early.
- Support maintenance and review of models under guidance; document assumptions and changes; standardise routines to reduce operational risk.
- Prepare well‑evidenced materials for rating committees and respond to follow‑up questions with transparency on sources and assumptions.
- Translate data, analysis and research into clear, decision‑ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Clarify technical information, bring new ideas forward and adapt messaging to the audience.
- Apply confidentiality, documentation and governance requirements consistently, ensuring human accountability for final analysis and committee content.
- Support testing of automation or agentic AI tools identified through process improvement initiatives.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within a Structured Finance Ratings capacity or residential mortgage credit at a bank or independent mortgage company.
- Collaborative teammate who manages priorities and communicates clearly in a partnership‑driven environment.
- Learning agility and continuous improvement mindset, comfortable adopting new tools while protecting quality and accountability.
- Ability to support juniors through guidance, quality checks and knowledge sharing including responsible AI practices.
- Strong research and data analysis skills.
- Financial statement and data competence; experience supporting modelling preferred.
- Understanding of credit and risk concepts.
- Practical AI fluency: uses GenAI/LLMs to augment analysis.
- Strong spreadsheet skills and willingness to learn data and automation tools to supervise and validate automated outputs.
- Effective written and verbal communicator, able to present research and analysis in a clear, structured way that supports informed decision‑making.
- High standards for accuracy, traceability and documentation.
