- Supervise and mentor a group of credit analysts
- Administer the flow of work to and from credit analysts
- Monitor the quality of credit analysts’ work
- Assist in hiring and training credit analysts
- Read and understand financial statements
- Review financial statements, tax returns, credit bureau reports, bank reports, and other company reports
- Input financial data into PC-based software to generate financial spreadsheets
- Analyze findings and prepare written reports
- Identify trends and determine key questions
- Review irregular financial information with loan officers
- Maintain a strong understanding of First Interstate Bank Loan Policy
- Underwrite complicated borrower relationships of all sizes accurately
- Complete annual term loan reviews, problem loan status reports, and loan approval forms
- Compile requested reports
- Communicate with loan officers and other credit analysts
- Assist with implementation and training of new software products for commercial loan analysis and commercial lending
- Act as a resource to loan officers regarding loan structures and underwriting recommendations
- Perform portfolio management
- Oversee day-to-day management of analysts
- Provide ongoing training to the analyst team
- Develop a team of credit analysts
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required, or 10+ years of banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required, or 10+ years experience in a similar position required
- Supervisory and/or management experience required
- Commercial banking experience preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents, and technical journals
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
- Ability to write speeches and articles conforming to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Regular and predictable attendance required
- Typical work hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Demonstrates expertise in supervising and mentoring credit analysts, analyzing financial statements, and underwriting complex borrower relationships. Proficient in implementing software solutions for commercial loan analysis and maintaining compliance with banking policies.
