Senior Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate the development, tracking, reporting and analysis of financial information
• Develop financial reporting, create budgets, and perform financial analysis
• Provide proactive, clear and actionable recommendations and alternatives to management
• Document key processes and internal control points for reporting to management
• Direct activities of other analysts as appropriate
• Track, analyze, and revise O&M and capital costs
• Work with Business Area leaders to project the impact of deviations on the financial outlook
• Prepare internal and external reports and resolve moderate to complex data issues
• Analyze financial data, identify adverse trends, and recommend mitigation solutions
• Communicate results through concise oral and written communications
• Support annual budgeting, current-year forecasting, and five-year forecasting through modeling and financial analysis
• Document supported-area processes to ensure consistency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Recommend and assist with implementing process improvements
• Prepare rate case information and analysis
• Assist with regulatory support requests and associated schedules
• Perform special projects as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum four year's experience in general financial accounting or analysis
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications required
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Comfortable presenting to Sr Leadership and other stakeholders across Xcel Energy
• CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
• Demonstrated skills in analysis, problem solving, customer service and relationship building desired

Demonstrates expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting, with a strong ability to communicate actionable insights to management. Proficient in documenting processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while leading financial projects and teams.
