Job Summary

The University of Colorado, Boulder's Health and Wellness Services team is seeking a part-time Radiology Technologist! This position provides comprehensive radiological support at Wardenburg Health Center. Responsibilities include performing patient X ray examinations, calculating appropriate radiation exposure factors, and collaborating with practitioners regarding radiologic images. The role also ensures accuracy of patient demographics and electronic orders, updates medical records and digital imaging files, and facilitates the delivery of radiology reports to referring providers through electronic systems as needed.

What Your

Key Responsibilities Will Be Radiologic Technology Science
  • Operate diagnostic X ray equipment in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
  • Position patients to achieve optimal imaging results while ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Evaluate radiographic images for diagnostic quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Calculate and regulate radiation exposure factors—including milliamperage, peak kilovolts, exposure time, distance, grid ratios, and patient body habitus—to produce high quality diagnostic images.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of anatomical positioning to ensure accurate and consistent imaging outcomes.
Communication with Patients, Healthcare Providers, Clinic Staff, and Service Vendors
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify imaging orders, determine the need for additional views, and exchange relevant patient information to support accurate radiologic evaluation.
  • Provide medical information to Wardenburg healthcare providers via phone or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Release medical images and information to patients on compact disc when required for continuity of care and in accordance with release of information protocols.
  • Maintain professional, clear, and compassionate communication with patients throughout the imaging process.
Information Systems and Computer Technology
  • Access, retrieve, and enter data across multiple clinical information systems, including the Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Medicat Order Monitor, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Computed Radiography (CR) systems, and Wardenburg network platforms.
  • Perform tasks such as entering and verifying demographic information, confirming electronic orders, updating provider data tables, processing billing, and auditing records for accuracy.
  • Review and access patient records to obtain necessary information for completing radiologic examinations efficiently and accurately.
What You Should Know

This is a University Staff, part‑time position anticipated to work 20 hours per week. The anticipated schedule for this position is from Monday‑Friday from 1:30 pm‑5:30 pm for the Fall and Spring semesters, and 1:00 pm‑5:00 pm for the Summer semester.

The pay range for this role is $28.22 – $33.87 per hour.
