Scope of Work- Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies.
- Works with multiple medication automation systems.
- Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas.
- Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members.
- Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).
- Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist.
- May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications.
- Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate's Degree
- Hospital experience
- Preferred LIC-Pharmacist Intern
- State of Michigan Upon Hire required - LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp
- State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required - LIC-Pharmacy Technician
- State of Michigan 90 Days required - CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC
- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required - CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Health career Association Excludes - LIC
- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required - Ideal candidate is a Pharmacy Technician possessing both Full License and National Certification, such as PTCB or ExCPT Inpatient experience would be a plus All Pharmacy Technicians may apply Pharmacy
Pharmacy Hours are usually between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday Between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Shifts are usually 8.5 Hrs
