Medical Receptionist (Full-time) – Boulder Medical Center
Medical Receptionist, full‑time, based at BMC Foothills 4745 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO, with possible rotation to Longmont. Hours Monday‑Friday 40 hrs per week; rotating Saturday mornings. Phone/emergency support as needed.
Job Summary
:
Provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for patients, managing phone calls, scheduling, and clinic front‑office tasks for multiple specialties including Audiology, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Pediatrics, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Urology.
- Answer telephone promptly, screen calls, and determine appointment type.
- Summarize appointment details before ending calls.
- Handle phone functions: transfers, hold, forwarding to after‑hours message system.
- Accurately record patient name, numbers, demographic information with correct spelling and punctuation.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments per provider preference and scheduling protocol.
- Navigate and operate Electronic Medical Records system, arriving patients for appointments and inputting relevant information.
- Provide front‑office and back‑office scheduling support for all clinics at the site.
- Good judgment, professionalism, and discretion when screening telephone calls.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining phone etiquette with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong computer and data‑entry skills; knowledgeable in medical terminology and HIPAA compliance (preferred).
- Excellent grammar and spelling; proficient in English.
- Professional, well‑groomed appearance and courteous manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree or some college coursework in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- One (1) year of prior work with public contact, preferably heavy telephone use.
- Prior patient scheduling experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred. Compensation
Starting hourly pay range $17.19 – $22.92 per hour (full range $17.19 – $25.79). Salary commensurate with experience.
