Summary:
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking Medical Scheduler / Receptionist candidate to join our Endoscopy / GI Lab team! This position if Full Time benefit eligible working Monday through Friday at our 2750 Broadway location. The primary functions of this position is scheduling GI/ASC procedures but this position will rotate through the front desk checking patients in and answering phones.

Job Summary:
- Accurately records patient name, numbers and demographic information using correct spelling and punctuation.
- Correctly schedules appointments according to provider preference and scheduling protocol. Displays awareness of and compliance with scheduling changes. Utilizes scheduling protocols as needed for each department and assist in updating as needed.
- Reschedules appointments as needed, canceling previously scheduled appointment, calling the patient if needed.
- Documents cancelled in the patient’s medical record when they occur.
- Checks daily for referrals and calls patient to schedule appointment
Skills and Abilities:
- Must use good judgment, professionalism and discretion when screening telephone calls, answering inquires and relaying appropriate information.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain phone etiquette using tact and diplomacy.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Must possess strong grammar and spelling ability as well as the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance, preferred.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or some college coursework in Business or Healthcare Administration, preferred.
Previous
Experience:
- Two (2) years of previous work experience involving public contact, preferably with heavy phone experience. Previous experience with patient scheduling in a hospital or clinic setting, highly desired. Bi-lingual ability (Spanish), a plus.
Salary Range
- $17.19 to $22.92/hour; depending on experience
