Job Summary

This position supports any of our physician teams in the clinic environment. The role performs injury assessments, assists the physician or physician assistant (PA-C) with treatment and performs follow-up care.

This is a full-time, hourly position, Monday through Friday 8a - 5p. Applicants must be willing to travel to all clinic locations, some overtime may be required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists team in maintaining an efficient clinic schedule including but not limited to scheduling appointments, chart preparation, patient flow. Acts as liaison between patient, physician, and office staff.
  • Assists the physician including but not limited to the following: taking patient history, taking vital signs, initial physical examination, ordering appropriate imaging, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Disease, 10th Revision (ICD-10) coding, and other necessary documentation.
  • Discuss patient’s history, initial physical examination, imaging, assessment, and plan of care with physician and/or PA-C.
  • Carry out prescribed treatments and recommendations by the team physician or PA-C.
  • Responsible for patient setup and education of in office procedures. Prepares for and assists physician with in-office procedures.
  • Responsible for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation on EVERY patient includes the following:
    Chief Complaint, Medications, Medical History, Allergies, Surgical History, Hospitalization, Family History, Social History, Review of Systems (ROS), Vitals (Height, Weight, Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, Oxygen levels, Pulse, etc.), Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) templates.
  • You may also be asked to document the following in patient charts:
    History of Present Illness (HPI), Physical Examination, Diagnostic Imaging, Assessment, and Treatment Plan.
  • Responsible for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) dispensing, fitting and product education, casting application and removal, suture/staple removal, and wound care.
  • Other DME related duties include but not limited to the following:
  • Receive and check-in all orders; check all boxes in all spaces as deliveries can be placed in multiple locations
  • Check inventory throughout the clinic, note any discrepancy from the Breg inventory on hand and send it to DME manager in an email
  • Daily count of frequently used DME – Tscope knee and hip, Slingshot, Walking Boots, Trilok, All Spine, OA and other Functional Knee, etc
  • Weekly count of all other DME and check against online quantity in Vision;
    Exos, wrist/hand, shoulder/elbow, foot stuff, functional knee, Compression socks, CTU/Pads, SCDs, Crutches/Mobilegs, etc
  • Organize spaces, drawers, cupboards so everything is in its place and easily accessible
  • Check orders to see if those low stock products have been ordered.
  • Email any notes with needs if products don’t flag as re-order or critical but are out of stock
  • Include any notes of potential changes or possible updates to inventory based on observed use
  • Check in with teams on site so they know you are available and help with brace fitting needs
  • Meet the Company’s expectations as described in the VSON Policies and Practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with company Policies and State and Federal laws, including OHSA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform job in accordance with all company safety practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Conditions

This job operates in a medical office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, etc.

This role may have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Work may be stressful eraction with others is constant and may be interruptive. Contact involves dealing with injured people who may be upset or angry with their situation.
