Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients in our community-focused healthcare system. Responsibilities include performing mammograms, ensuring patient comfort and safety, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities
  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following established imaging protocols and MQSA/ACR guidelines.
  • Position patients accurately and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality, diagnostic images.
  • Verify patient identity, review relevant clinical history, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
  • Maintain patient safety and privacy, applying radiation safety principles and ALARA standards.
  • Perform daily and periodic quality control tests on mammography equipment and communicate any equipment issues promptly.
  • Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure proper labeling and image management.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other technologists to support efficient patient flow and coordinated care.
  • Assist with compliance for mammography accreditation, regulatory requirements, and SPRHC policies.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and performance improvement initiatives within the imaging department.
Required Skills
  • Digital mammography imaging and positioning techniques
  • Knowledge of MQSA and ACR mammography standards
  • Radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Operation and basic troubleshooting of mammography equipment
  • PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) usage
  • Patient communication and education
  • Anatomy and physiology relevant to breast imaging
  • Quality control and quality assurance procedures in imaging
  • Infection control and safety protocols
  • Time management and workflow coordination in a clinical setting
