- • Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians
- • Perform radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols
- • Initiate proper intervention with the radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention
- • Review exam indications and report inappropriate indications to the supervisor
- • Provide complete and accurate exam data to the reading radiologist
- • Use PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR computer systems and perform general clerical duties
- • Archive image data, send images to the radiologist group, and retrieve stored images from PACS or disc backup
- • Understand medical and legal implications related to imaging reports and images
- • Maintain department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control standards
- • Assist and mentor staff and students with on-the-job training, clinical rotations, and orientation
- • Assist with analysis, collection, and maintenance of records required by department management, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR, OSHA, the facility, or law
- Associate's degree or certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) within 60 days
- Ability to work the specified hours
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Compliance with applicable safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA
Demonstrates expertise in operating radiographic and CT equipment to produce diagnostic images while adhering to established protocols and safety standards. Proficient in using PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems for efficient data management and communication with medical professionals.
