Responsibilities
  • Load cleaning supplies into cleaning carts and keep cleaning carts and storage areas organized and in good condition to promote efficiency and ease of room cleaning.
  • Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and accessories in rooms, public areas, and hallways, often using stepladders or step stools to clean hard-to-reach areas to maintain a clean, presentable, and attractive facility at all times. Clean shower and tub walls, clean toilet(s) and toilet partitions when appropriate; wipe down exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and walls to ensure clean and hygienic public and guest bathrooms.
  • Replenish room amenities such as towels, soaps, and replenish printed materials that the previous guest took or that are soiled or broken to ensure adequate supply for future guests.
  • Hand wash all floored areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) to remove dirt and clean stains.
  • Shake and polish all wall-hanging furniture, accessories, and items including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
  • Remove all bedding from beds and remake with fresh linens, checking the cleanliness of bedspreads, blankets, and mattress covers, replacing them if dirty.
  • Lift mattresses to check for stains between mattresses and under beds.
  • Check closet cleanliness, wipe down closet door, handle, and top shelves, and replenish guest room items such as hangers, blankets, and extra pillows.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways operating vacuums weighing up to 25 pounds and lift and move heavy furniture to vacuum the entire carpet area, including under furniture and in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are functioning properly and immediately alert management to address any unsafe or hazardous situations to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
  • Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure they are functioning properly and immediately report the condition of the room and maintenance deficiencies in writing to the Executive Housekeeper for prompt repair or resolution.
  • Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and materials to protect and preserve hotel property.
Qualifications

Education/Training

No formal education or training required

Experience

Previous cleaning experience desirable

Knowledge/Skills

  • Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent vision necessary; emphasis on cleaning standards and quality control.

  • Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the work shift.
  • Must have the strength to push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture throughout the work shift.
  • Must be able to work with arms raised above the head throughout the work shift.
  • Must be able to maneuver a fully loaded cleaning cart weighing up to 50 pounds through hallways and into and out of closets throughout the work shift.
Salary

USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
