Overview

Emerson has an exciting opportunity as a Lead HR Business Partner for our Boulder, CO location. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in enabling business performance through the people strategy. You will also partner closely with leaders to strengthen culture, develop talent, and drive engagement across critical teams. You’ll operate at the intersection of business strategy and employee experience—balancing regional complexity, global priorities, and HR initiatives to deliver meaningful impact where it matters most.

Success in this role comes from truly understanding the business: its strategic direction, culture, and market dynamics. While you won’t have direct reports, you’ll act as a coach and mentor within the HR organization, influencing outcomes through expertise, partnership, and thoughtful leadership.

Responsibilities

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Strategic Partnership:
    Partner with senior leaders to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support organizational objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR consultation on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Talent Management:
    Support identification and development of key talent and high-potential employees to ensure a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Lead talent management processes including performance management, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with leaders to build strong teams and improve retention.
  • Organizational Effectiveness:
    Design and implement organizational effectiveness strategies that improve performance, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Analyze organizational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Culture & Change Management:
    Drive culture initiatives aligned with company values and business objectives.
  • Lead and support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, behaviors, and ways of working.
  • Partner with leaders to navigate transformation and growth.
  • Coaching & Development:
    Provide one-on-one coaching to senior leaders to enhance leadership capability and effectiveness.
  • Influence leaders to adopt best practices in people leadership.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting:
    Utilize HR metrics and insights to track effectiveness of HR initiatives and inform decision-making.
  • Prepare and present data and recommendations to senior leadership on key workforce trends.

For This Role, You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a strategic HR role, preferably as an HR Business Partner.
  • Proven experience in talent management, organizational development, and culture transformation.
  • Strong coaching, consulting, and influencing skills with experience partnering with senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and comfort translating data into actionable insights.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or GPHR.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $117,600 - $168,000 annually commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
