Position: Regional People Advisor

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 10

As a Regional People Advisor, you will support HR initiatives across the Americas region, offering guidance on local employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices. You will contribute to talent engagement, development, and retention efforts, helping to build a strong, diverse workforce in line with business needs. In this role, you'll provide advice to People Leaders and employees spanning all business lines on a range of HR matters, including performance management, employee relations, and adherence to local employment regulations.

As part of the Americas HR team, you will play a role in implementing people priorities aligned with S&P Global's enterprise strategy and legal compliance requirements.

You’ll work with various People team members, Centers of Excellence, and other stakeholders and business partners to deliver effective HR solutions, contributing to the day‑to‑day HR needs of the enterprise.

Responsibilities:
  • HR Advisory: Support the Americas region on HR matters, particularly around local employment laws, compliance, and regulatory issues. Ensure HR practices are aligned with country, state, and local labor legislation.
  • Support Enterprise Strategy: Help implement HR initiatives that align with global business goals while addressing the unique needs of the Americas region.
  • Performance Management: Assist People Leaders and employees with performance management processes, including appraisals, coaching, and performance improvement plans. Help ensure consistency and fairness in performance reviews.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Collaborate with employee relations teams to resolve issues, support positive employee relations, and ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Talent Development Support: Provide insights on talent development needs, support training and development initiatives, and ensure their successful implementation within the Americas.
  • Coaching & Development: Advise People Leaders on best practices for managing performance and career development. Assist in resolving performance issues and help build high‑performing teams.
  • Partner with Insights & Analytics Team: Work with the Insights and Analytics team to share regional insights that inform decisions on workforce planning, talent trends, and people data.
  • HR Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes by leveraging technology, automation, and AI tools. Ensure processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support Engagement Initiatives: Help implement local engagement initiatives aligned with business goals, working with leadership to improve retention, foster inclusivity, and build a positive culture across the region.
Compensation/Benefits Information (U.S. candidates only)

Anticipated base salary range: $64,320 to $. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Local Employment Laws: Comprehensive understanding of U.S. employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to apply these laws effectively in a business context.
  • Experience in Performance Management: Practical experience supporting performance management processes, including employee reviews and feedback.
  • HR Generalist

    Experience:

    4+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong foundation in HR practices and a focus on regional support.
  • Strong Communication

    Skills:

    Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with leadership and employees.
