Position: Program Manager I

Overview

Uplight is creating a new category of energy. We make software that manages energy resources in homes and businesses—including smart thermostats, electric vehicles, solar panels, storage batteries, heat pumps, and people’s behavior—to generate, shift, or save energy to balance the grid, making it more efficient and reliable. This creates clean energy capacity that can be used by the power grid instead of burning more fossil fuels.

Our solutions accelerate the transition to clean energy and save money for energy customers. We are seeking a Program Manager I to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet. We are searching for an organized, detail-oriented Program Manager who is passionate about metrics-driven delivery excellence and Agile as a philosophy, and who is eager to support product and engineering teams in optimizing delivery for our customers.

This role focuses on executing program management fundamentals, maintaining delivery systems, and providing actionable insights through data analysis. You will also support organizational change management initiatives, including stakeholder mapping, communications planning, and facilitating adoption of new processes and tools as part of our Ways of Working transformation.

What you get to do

  • Support engineering leads in tracking and reporting on dev efficiency metrics (e.g., sprint velocity, cycle time, DORA metrics)
  • Build and maintain dashboards that provide visibility into team performance, roadmap progress, and delivery health
  • Execute program and project management activities including tracking deliverables, updating status reports, managing meeting cadences, and supporting stakeholder communication
  • Support cross-functional coordination by maintaining clear documentation, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-through on decisions
  • Support change management activities including stakeholder mapping, identifying impacted groups, and tracking adoption of new processes and tools
  • Assist in developing and executing communication plans for organizational changes, process updates, and new tool rollouts
  • Maintain change logs and documentation that track organizational transformation initiatives and their progress
  • Facilitate adoption of new processes by creating training materials, user guides, and supporting teams through transitions
  • Gather feedback from teams on process changes and new initiatives, synthesizing input to inform continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including plans, timelines, risk logs, and dependency tracking
  • Translate data into clear summaries and reports that help teams and leadership understand program status
  • Support process adherence by helping teams follow established agile ceremonies and delivery practices
What you bring to Uplight
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Program Analyst, Project Coordinator, or similar role in a tech environment
  • Willingness and ability to work with distributed teams across different time zones (particularly Asia/India and North America)
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams and maintain attention to detail
  • Interest in organizational change management with willingness to learn change management methodologies and best practices
  • Solid comfort with data tools and analytics (e.g., Excel, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
, ideally including participation in scrum ceremonies or supporting agile teams
  • Strong communication skills with ability to document processes clearly and provide concise status updates
  • Project coordination capabilities with ability to track deliverables, manage schedules, and identify blockers
  • Analytical mindset with ability to work with data, identify patterns, and present findings clearly
  • Collaborative approach with willingness to support team needs and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred
  • Experience as a project manager, scrum master or agile facilitator
  • Prior experience working with teams…
