FORGE-MDPAP is the next generation missile warning processing system for the US Space Force. The MDPAP Visualization team leverages web based, Unreal Engine, and backend data ingest and manipulation technologies to seamlessly present in-depth real-time sensor and event data visualization and analytics information to Space Force Guardians to prosecute a "no-fail" mission.
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for the FORGE MDP/AP missile warning system who can help the Visualization subsystem operate and maintain high-performance and reliable services for our on-prem development infrastructure as well as integrate with the production environments. This position will be responsible for integration of a US Space Force mission critical data visualization software suite with the development and production infrastructure.
Position location is split between on-site at program in Boulder, CO and at government site 5 days per week.
- Lead implementation of the observability tools and analyze metrics capturing the environment utilization as well as mission performance of the software.
- Work with software teams to specify and optimize hardware environment usage.
- Lead problem diagnosis efforts of the deployed mission system.
- Develop automation for the deployment of the software stack.
- Clearance required:
Secret. The position requires the ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance. Ability to get an interim or active DoD Secret clearance or higher. Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must also agree to participate in a background screen. - 5+ years experience operating high reliability environments.
- Ability to implement observability toolsets to instrument software and hardware utilization.
- Practical hands-on troubleshooting techniques with demonstrated fault isolation and root cause analysis experience.
- Experience in building automation tools (e.g. deployment automation).
- Currently active U.S. government DoD Secret security clearance or higher
- Proficiency with the following tools/technologies:
- K8s/Open Shift
- Prometheus/Tempo/Grafana
- Helm charts
- Python
- CI/CD pipeline configuration
- NATS data layer
- Container (Docker) management
- Cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP)
- Linux system administration (RHEL)
- Interim or Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher

The proposed salary for this position is:
$103,100 - $171,800 USD
