Overview
Qualcomm’s Government Technologies division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. As a Cyber Security Engineer you will work on an Information Security and Risk Management team dedicated to securing Qualcomm’s Government business unit and protect, shield, and defend the business unit from cyber threats.
Location & EmploymentSan Diego, CA – Full‑time, 5 days a week.
EligibilityApplicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active U.S. Government security clearance.

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Cloud security architecture, tooling, and monitoring
- Microsoft Cloud technologies such as Entra , Purview and Defender, preferably in GCC High
- Amazon Web Services technologies such as Cloud Trail, Guard Duty, Cloud Watch, AWS Security Groups, etc., preferably in Gov Cloud
- Security Operations, including security event monitoring and incident review
- Creating threat detections in cloud, host, and network security tooling
- Security automation and scripting
- Incident response
- Threat hunting
- Application security
- Penetration testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of cybersecurity‑relevant work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of cybersecurity‑relevant work experience.

Benefits & CompensationPay range: $56.92 – $85.38.
