About The TeamThe Design Technology team serves as the essential link between Design and Technology at Workday, supporting the UX community to design and build quality, innovative, and intentional experiences team architects, builds, and maintains key technology solutions for Designers and Researchers, providing design-focused UI engineering services and Dev Ops support.
This team sits at a unique intersection of design and engineering, offering you the opportunity to directly shape the tools and infrastructure that power Workday's UX organization.
AboutThe Role
As a Dev Ops Engineer on the Design Technology team, you will play a key role in building and supporting the cloud-based infrastructure that powers UX tooling, code build pipelines, and design assets — enabling design quality and innovation at scale across Workday's products.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and support secure and scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS) for code build pipelines, tools, and UX assets
- Deliver high‑quality, secure infrastructure solutions with structured due diligence and risk analysis
- Collaborate with the Design Technology team to innovate and develop tools and processes that support the UX organization's growth
- Work cross‑functionally to identify and implement solutions that amplify UX impact at Workday
- Integrate and support technology solutions that enable Designers and Researchers to work efficiently
- 5+ years of related experience in Dev Ops, cloud infrastructure, or a similar engineering role
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS
- 2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or similar platforms
- Cloud Infrastructure (AWS): Experienced in designing, securing, and managing cloud environments.
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Proficient in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.
- Infrastructure as Code: Skilled in using tools such as Terraform and/or Cloud Formation.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficient in scripting languages such as Groovy and Bash.
- Network Security and WAF Management: Knowledgeable in secure network design, including Cloud Front and App Sync WAF rules.
- Linux/Unix Systems Administration: Solid understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals and networking concepts.
- Serverless Architecture: Familiar with AWS Lambda and serverless application patterns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Primary Location (): $110,900 USD - $166,300 USD
- Additional US Location(s): $105,400 USD - $188,800 USD
