Technical Support Specialist

• Schedule: 10-20 hrs/week (Oct. 12-25), increasing to 30-40 hrs/week (Oct. 26-Nov.
  6); weekend and extended Election Day hours required.
• Locations: Boulder County, including Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, and surrounding areas.
• Pay: $22/hr W2.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in a technical support, service center, help desk, or customer-facing technical support role.
• Experience supporting non-technical end users and troubleshooting technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Windows 11 and laptop installation including Windows drivers.
• Experience installing, testing, and supporting peripherals such as scanners, printers, routers, and other connected devices.
• Experience with MS Office products such as Teams, Outlook, Office 365 Online, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Active Directory or similar identity management platforms for user credential management and password resets.
• Knowledge of multi-factor authentication and basic cybersecurity risks and mitigation including phishing, password standards, social engineering, and security best practices.
• Ability to follow procedures with strong attention to detail and proactively seek clarification when needed. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment supporting a secure and accurate election process.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and move technology equipment in and out of vehicles using carts or dollies.
• Ability to work extended shifts, including up to 12+ hours on Election Day and consecutive days during peak election operations.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire 10 technical support individuals to support polling stations in Boulder County and surrounding areas during the 2026 Election. This person will be responsible for setting up polling station equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment during the election period, and tearing down and decommissioning equipment post-election. Equipment includes Windows laptops, soft-phones, and peripheral devices including label printers, network printers, barcode scanners, and routers.

This person will verify standard software images and configurations, configure and test polling station technology, and provide technical support to election judges, county staff, and members of the public through both in-person and remote channels including Teams, phone, chat, text, and email. The Technical Support Specialist should have experience with Windows and O365 troubleshooting, user account management, password resets, cybersecurity best practices, and physical desktop and printer troubleshooting.

This individual will also be responsible for documenting and communicating technical issues, escalating issues when appropriate, participating in technical support debriefs, and following established election technology and emergency response procedures. We will provide approximately 8 hours of training on October 8th covering Vote Center technology, key support services, communication protocols, and support procedures.

We are looking to bring on 10 Technical Support Technicians to join this team. This project is slated to run from October 8th through November 6th. Hours are expected to be approximately 10-20 hours per week from October 12th through October 25th and increase to approximately 30-40 hours per week from October 26th through November 6th. Weekend availability and extended hours leading up to and on Election Day are expected.

Locations are throughout Boulder County including core sites in Longmont, Boulder, Lafayette and neighboring areas. Pay is $22/hr W2.
