Job SummaryThe General Maintenance/Furniture Technician will assist in all aspects of moves within the Lockheed Martin Campus and fill out all documents associated. Set up and tear down for events throughout the campus. Track furniture inventory use associated with furniture moved and events. Makes simple decisions but refers technical questions to more experienced personnel. Must be eligible to obtain a DOD security clearance and have a good driving record.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Move furniture and boxes campus-wide
- Prioritize evolving schedule and time management
- Lift, move, and inspect furniture
- Clean furniture and apply fabric protection
- Minor modular furniture modifications (relocate shelf units)
- Scrap obsolete furniture
- Assist with venue set up and tear down for events (stage, signage, linens, audio equipment)
- Snow removal activities including shoveling
- Track furniture inventory and complete work orders
- High School diploma or equivalent; vocational school a plus
- 1 to 3 years prior experience in facilities
- Must possess or have ability to obtain a secret security clearance
- Basic computer skills including Office 365 and work order management systems
- Excellent customer service and basic knowledge of hand tools and small power tools
- Furniture assembly, carpentry skills a plus, facilities maintenance a plus
The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk 4+ miles per day within campus. This candidate is also required to lift 50 lbs or more, lift, push, and pull.
Work EnvironmentMust be able to take verbal and written instructions, and be able to carry out any other responsibility assigned by management and client. Must be able to follow written procedures, trainings, and emergency procedures. Must be able to arrive on time for work and have a reliable method of transportation.
