Do you have a passion for people and being of service? Are you inspired to create positive change in our local community? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive environment in a values-driven organization that cares deeply for its employees? If so, the Boulder JCC might be the place for you!

The Boulder JCC offers employee benefits that include plentiful time off and a retirement savings plan with generous company match.

Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking to add talented, conscientious, and motivated Facilities, Event & Maintenance Staff to the team. This position can be filled as either a Full-Time role (up to 40 hours per week) or Part-Time roles (up to 15–20 hours per week each), with shifts primarily focused on afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The primary role of this position is to independently or collaboratively lead large-scale event setups and teardowns, perform routine custodial care and cleanliness, carry out building maintenance, handle exterior needs, and be a friendly, helpful presence.

The facilities staff serves as one of the most important ambassadors for the Boulder JCC as they are interacting with and creating an inviting space for everyone who comes on site.

This position requires an individual with sharp problem-solving skills, an affinity to work with a high degree of independence, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with the rest of our close-knit team. Candidates with a strong background in general building maintenance and technical repair skills are highly encouraged to apply for the full-time capacity. Success in this role means being able to take a complex event plan or maintenance task and execute it efficiently and flawlessly from start to finish without needing direct supervision, while remaining highly aligned and communicative with your colleagues.

In addition to having an uncompromising eye for detail, cleanliness, and quality, success in this position depends on your welcoming disposition, proactive approach to projects, a desire to learn or apply maintenance skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Independently or collaboratively lead large-scale event setups and teardowns, ensuring strict attention to detail, efficiency, and layout quality
  • Perform general building maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and restocking of supplies (full-time candidates will handle more advanced technical and preventative maintenance)
  • Perform routine custodial duties and deep cleaning to ensure all interior spaces, restrooms, and common areas remain pristine, sanitary, and welcoming
  • Interface with organizations using Boulder JCC space to assure appropriate plans for set-up, cleanliness, and clean up are seamlessly in place
  • Provide assistance to the Venue & Events Director and Facilities Manager leading up to, during, and after public and private special events
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for caterers and other event vendors, coordinating with them and using strong problem-solving skills to handle logistical adjustments on the fly
  • Collaborate closely and work hand-in-hand with the Facilities team and the rest of the BJCC staff to keep operations beautifully aligned
  • Serve as a point of contact and ensure a warm, welcoming, and helpful experience for community members, event rentals, and staff
  • Continually optimize processes, including identifying best practices, working efficiently, and managing workflows autonomously
