Cottonwood Custom Builders is a Boulder-based builder specializing exclusively in high-end, custom residential homes. We are seeking a senior-level Project Manager with a minimum of 8 years of proven experience managing complex, high-end custom home projects. Applicant must be well versed in sustainable building practices and have a strong knowledge of building science.

This role is not entry- or mid-level. Extensive experience in high-end residential construction is required.

Position Overview

The Project Manager will lead sophisticated custom home projects from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and significant hands-on experience managing high-end residential construction with demanding clients, complex detailing, and tight quality standards.

Required Experience & Qualifications (Mandatory)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Project Manager in residential construction (required)
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-end, custom residential homes (required)
  • Extensive project management expertise across all phases of construction
  • Proven experience with sustainable and high-performance residential building practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of building science and construction sequencing
  • Ability to manage large budgets, detailed schedules, and multiple subcontractors
  • Excellent communication skills with architects, designers, trades, and discerning clients
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage luxury custom home projects from preconstruction through final close-out
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and jobsite safety
  • Lead client communication and manage expectations throughout the project
  • Review contracts, change orders, and payment applications
  • Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges
  • Ensure all work aligns with building science principles and sustainability goals
  • Salary range: $85,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience
