Operations Manager, Power Distribution Services
Description

A growing electrical services organization is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead testing, repair, and maintenance operations for low, medium, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment. This leadership role combines technical expertise, team management, customer engagement, and operational oversight within a fast‑paced service environment.

The ideal candidate is a safety‑focused servant leader with strong field experience, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to drive operational excellence across both shop and field service teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair operations for electrical distribution equipment in shop and field environments
  • Support proposal development, customer walkthroughs, and technical quoting activities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technicians and field personnel
  • Promote and enforce strong safety practices including LOTO, job hazard analysis, audits, and training
  • Coordinate labor scheduling, production planning, and field service execution
  • Oversee reporting, documentation, ERP updates, and customer communication
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, turnaround time, labor utilization, and operational efficiency
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with low, medium, and high‑voltage switch gear or power distribution equipment
  • Experience leading technical teams or field operations preferred
  • Ability to interpret electrical one‑line diagrams and safety procedures
  • Hands‑on knowledge of electrical testing equipment and repair methodologies
  • Familiarity with breakers, relays, control systems, transformers, and distribution equipment
  • Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills
  • NETA or equivalent industry certifications preferred
  • Ability to support overtime and field‑based work as needed
