At the Colorado Chautauqua Association (CCA), we are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences for the community through our event offerings. We are looking for a dynamic Public Events Operations Manager with a programming background to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and execute events that engage and inspire audiences.

The Public Events Operations Manager

has overall responsibility for and oversight of all event operations, onsite management and staff coordination. This position also supports the General Manager of Public Events in all aspects of event operations and associated administrative tasks as requested, as well as supporting the planning and booking of programming at Chautauqua.

Evening and weekend work is required in meeting position responsibilities.

The right candidate will have:
  • 2 plus years’ experience in event management, e.g., public events, festivals, or community programming in a performing arts center, music venue or similar setting.
  • 2 plus years of related experience in program development and execution.
  • 2 plus years’ experience supervising/managing staff (hiring, training, coaching, and initiating disciplinary action when necessary).
  • Proven experience leading teams, with a hands‑on approach to operations and problem‑solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work closely with internal departments, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure all event requirements are met.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability for change in a fast paced, public environment.
  • Excellent customer service attitude
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Starting Salary:

$58,000 to $65,000 annually
