Job Description SummaryUnder limited supervision, direct and manage the daily operations of the Boulder Municipal Court (BMC) and oversee departmental projects. Facilitate planning and implementation of the department work plan, set employee goals and objectives, and track employee performance. Serves as a member of the department’s leadership team and may fill essential day-to-day tasks in the absence of the Court Administrator
Job Description- Directs and manages the daily operations of the Municipal Court. Develops systems and procedures to enhance services and promote continuous improvement of the Court.
- Analyzes, develops, and implements administrative and management systems within the department.
- Plans and implements organizational, program, and personnel changes.
- Coordinates daily operations and assigns and supervises subordinates’ work activities.
- Directs court staff in solving situations that occur outside the standard work process.
- Directs staff in the development and provision of strong external and internal customer service.
- Coordinates department standard procedures and monitors performance measures.
- Establishes work priorities and standards for performing job duties, which includes quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Develops and maintains a team environment.
- Facilitates conflict resolution in employee relations and customer service issues.
- Sets organizational learning goals.
- Manage consultants and outside vendors contracted by the court.
- Maintains the department’s software databases.
- Conducts community outreach and educational opportunities for the public to better understand BMC processes and programs, including Community Court.
- Facilitates accomplishment of goals and objectives and tracks performance of the Court Supervisor, Court Program Supervisor, and Administrative Assistant to accomplish the annual review process.
- Meets frequently with individual employees to monitor progress in goals and objectives articulated in the annual review process or outlined in performance improvement plans.
- Gathers and follows up on information pertaining to individual employee attitudes, morale, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Provides resources to staff to assist in the accomplishment of goals.
- Ensures that employees are developed to their highest potential.
- Works with court staff to ensure work quality, coordination, and consistency.
- Develops, assesses, and delivers training for current and new staff members.
- Develops and maintains Municipal Court’s policy and procedure manual.
- Keeps abreast of developments to laws, higher court rulings, ordinances, regulations, and department policies; and analyzes any potential impacts to the court’s policies and procedures. Works with Municipal Judge, and Court Administrator to develop or revise existing court policies and procedures based on this analysis.
- Coordinates with court administrator, judges, and court staff to collect information for policy development.
- Oversees development and organization of policy and procedural documents, which include emergency planning and business continuity directives.
- Communicates changes in the court’s policies and procedures to staff.
