Quality Assurance Technician II

Location: Boulder, CO
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $20–$25/hour (DOE)
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

What You’ll Be Doing

This role supports quality inspections for precision optics manufacturing. You’ll inspect parts, verify measurements, and make sure products meet specifications before moving forward in the process. Work is done both on the manufacturing floor and in lab-style inspection areas.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect optical surfaces for quality using visual inspection standards

  • Measure parts using handheld tools and automated measurement equipment

  • Inspect complex optics and optical assemblies, including setting up equipment

  • Read drawings, prints, and specifications to understand inspection requirements

  • Follow process sheets, coating data, interferometer scans, and material certifications

  • Complete First Article Inspections with minimal guidance

  • Document inspection results and report nonconforming material

  • Communicate issues and improvement ideas with Quality and Engineering teams

  • Support process improvement efforts through data collection and testing

  • Help train and support junior QA and Manufacturing Technicians

What We’re Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, QA, or QC in a manufacturing environment

  • Comfortable using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment

  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications

  • Familiarity with GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) is a plus

  • Basic to intermediate math skills

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
