Job Description
We are seeking an experienced softgoods fabrication technician to operate and maintain cutting, bonding, sewing, and heat press equipment. The role involves setting up machines based on tooling and CAD inputs, calibrating for material type, thickness, and construction, and troubleshooting process and equipment issues to ensure high‑quality builds and efficient cycle times.
Responsibilities- Support machine setup and configuration for toolings and CAD inputs.
- Ensure machines are tuned for specific material type, thickness, and construction method.
- Execute builds in collaboration with prototype assemblers and tooling engineers.
- Troubleshoot machine-related issues impacting build quality or cycle time.
- Support scaling of builds from early prototypes to pre‑factory readiness phases.
- Provide feedback on process optimization and manufacturability constraints.
- Support build documentation, process stabilization, and handoff readiness.
- Assist in transferring learnings to factory or satellite production teams.
- Hands‑on experience operating and maintaining softgoods fabrication equipment, including cutting, bonding/lamination, sewing, and heat press/forming tools.
- Strong understanding of machine setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment issues quickly.
- Working knowledge of softgoods materials such as textiles, microfibers, silicone, and adhesives.
- Experience supporting pilot production or manufacturing line setup.
- Familiarity with fast‑paced engineering prototype environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with excellent time‑management skills.
- Committed to meeting stringent deadlines, proactive and result‑oriented.
$63,400‑$65,000 per year
