Summary

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading daily packaging operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production while meeting quality and delivery expectations. This role oversees team performance, drives continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to cGMP standards, safety requirements, and operational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop packaging team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing feedback
  • Foster a high-performance, team-oriented environment with strong communication, accountability, and engagement
  • Support performance management activities, including evaluations, coaching, and development planning
  • Oversee daily packaging operations to ensure schedules are met and customer orders are delivered on time
  • Ensure accuracy of outbound shipments, including verification of pallets and product integrity
  • Ensure high-quality, dependable packaging output at a minimal sustainable cost
  • Minimize downtime by proactively identifying risks and resolving operational issues
  • Monitor production performance and drive improvements in throughput, efficiency, and reliability
  • Lead deviation management, CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and investigations in compliance with cGMP and company standards
  • Conduct and document incident investigations; ensure timely and accurate reporting and follow-up actions
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensure effective training and adherence across the team
  • Enforce PPE requirements and conduct routine safety audits while promoting a proactive safety culture
  • Ensure all packaging activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze key performance metrics (e.g., efficiency, quality, downtime, on-time delivery) and implement corrective and continuous improvement actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues impacting production and customer delivery timelines
  • Support the development and implementation of new packaging solutions, systems, and process improvements
  • Contribute to departmental goal setting and execution of operational and strategic initiatives
  • Represent the packaging department at internal and external meetings and events
  • Monitor, measure, and report on packaging-related performance, quality, and compliance issues
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, college degree a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in food/pharmaceutical/nutraceutical processing operations, FDA regulated industry, or relevant combination of education and training.
  • Excellent written, organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including keyboarding and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
Salary and Benefits

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
