SUMMARY
Apply concrete experiences and abstract principles to chemical manufacturing and/or development activities. Perform simulations, scale‑up calculations, investigations, and laboratory work, and/or evaluate manufacturing data, perform statistical analysis, and write technical reports of manufacturing campaigns. Potential to propose and implement process improvements. Become familiar with cGMP operations and documentation. Demonstrate problem solving skills within interdisciplinary team environments. Acquire new skills and expand competency in support of project goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrate self‑directed learning
- Interact with mentors and coaches to achieve project goals
- Cultivate skills to support active pharmaceutical ingredient development and/or manufacturing
- Summarize presentation upon completion of work rotation
- Attainment of Sophomore standing (Junior preferred) at an accredited postsecondary institution.
- Ability to read and understand common technical literature and communicate verbally and in writing with peers and management.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Knowledge and ability applying problem solving as demonstrated with schoolwork performance and work experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Visual Basic.
- Ability to make calculations and report results required for assigned work activities.
- Basic knowledge of chemical manufacturing unit operations.
- Fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis and troubleshooting problems.
- Ability to write technical reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, low levels of toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, work with hands, talk and hear, and taste and smell;
occasionally required to reach above shoulder height, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
