Inventory Control Specialist Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Replicate existing inventory control processes and adapt them for production use for the new product line.
  • Receive incoming shipments and accurately process materials into inventory.
  • Review and understand work orders and perform cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Manage shipping and receiving activities, including processing items into stock, closing invoices, and notifying engineers about available inventory.
  • Handle machine parts such as printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and other electronic components with care and accuracy.
  • Kit and organize parts for work orders so engineers can efficiently perform testing and assembly.
  • Maintain precise inventory and document control records in the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support a smooth new product launch and build out the inventory function at the facility.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with inventory control processes, including receiving, shipping, and cycle counting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Oracle ERP is preferred, though other ERP platforms are also valued.
  • Ability to manage and track machine parts, including PCBAs and electronic components.
  • Strong document control skills to maintain accurate and traceable inventory records.
  • Ability to understand and work from formal work orders.
  • Availability for part‑time hours, ideally 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., aligned with East Coast time and not on an afternoon shift.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment at a Boulder facility, working closely with engineering and production teams. The position is part‑time, with hours ideally from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and must align with East Coast business hours, so afternoon shifts are not available. Work involves regular handling of machine parts, PCBAs, and electronic components, as well as consistent use of an ERP system to manage inventory and documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
