Position Summary
The Ameri Corps member will serve as part of the Education Department at the museum, working directly under the supervision of the Education Coordinator. Their primary focus will be to support and deliver high‑impact educational programming to K‑12 students, with an emphasis on equitable access to culturally relevant history education. The member will play a key role in facilitating Hands‑on History programs, field trips, and other student‑focused educational experiences.
As capacity allows, the Ameri Corps member may also assist with community events, adult educational programming, and broader outreach initiatives.
- The Member will serve at the Center for Colorado Women’s History.
- Ameri Corps member will serve for an average of 20 hours per week, for a minimum of 900 hours over the term.
- Flexible hours are required, including occasional evenings and weekend commitments.
- The Ameri Corps member will be directly supervised by the Education Coordinator, with additional oversight by the Program Manager.
- Service term begins September 8, 2026 and ends August 20, 2027.
- Mandatory orientation on September 8 and 9, 2026 at the History Colorado Museum in Denver.
- Create a positive visitor experience by engaging visitors, facilitating interactive activities, giving daily guided tours, and collaborating with vendors and community partners during special events.
- Support the museum’s educational mission by assisting with front‑desk service, providing information and resources in the visitor center, and leading daily educational tours.
- Collaborate with museum staff and community partners to enhance program reach and impact.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement of educational programming.
- Support and facilitate other History Colorado community engagement and story initiatives projects as needed.
- Fall (Sept–Nov):
- Facilitate field trips on select weekdays.
- Support Victorian Death Experiences (Thurs–Sat evenings).

Participate in other select programs and events as scheduled throughout the year.
- Living allowance up to $18,000 (pre‑tax), distributed in biweekly installments over the 50‑week term.
