$20/hr guaranteed + short-shift incentive | 15-30 hours/week | Boulder, CO
Looking for a student job that actually works around school?
We're building a Boulder fundraising schedule designed for students who want meaningful, social work without giving up their entire week to a traditional job.
As a Student Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser , you'll spend 5-hour shifts out in the Boulder community talking with people about causes that matter - from environmental protection and humanitarian aid to human rights, reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ equality, and social justice .
You’ll represent nonprofit organizations, learn about the issues they’re working on, and inspire people to support their work by becoming monthly donors.
And because this program is designed around shorter shifts, there's an added incentive for strong fundraising days.
Work a 5-hour shift and reach the daily fundraising threshold, and you'll receive an additional 2 hours of pay - meaning 5 hours worked can equal 7 hours of pay.
Your regular $20/hr wage is guaranteed for every hour you work. This is not a commission-only job.
Classes, studying, campus life - we know you've already got a schedule.
That's why these shifts are shorter and happen primarily in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends.
Tuesday-Friday: 3pm-8pm
Saturday-Sunday: 12pm-5pm
5-hour shifts
Minimum 3 shifts per week / 15 hours
Up to 6 shifts / 30 hours per week
You must currently be enrolled in school to qualify for the Student Program.
What You'll Actually Be DoingYou’ll be working outdoors, door-to-door in Boulder , alongside a fundraising team.
You'll:
- Start conversations with people in the community
- Talk about important nonprofit campaigns
- Inspire people to become monthly donors
- Learn how to communicate confidently and persuasively
- Work toward individual and team fundraising goals
- Get regular coaching and support from experienced fundraisers
Every day is different, and you're never doing it alone.
Is It Challenging?Yep.
You'll approach a lot of people. Some will be excited to talk to you. Some won't be interested. You'll hear "no," spend your shift on your feet, work outdoors, and be expected to keep working toward your fundraising goals.
That's part of the job.
But if you enjoy meeting people, like challenging yourself, and want a job where you can actually see yourself getting better at something, it can also be incredibly rewarding.
You Don't Need ExperienceWe'll provide paid training and ongoing coaching.
We're looking for students who:
- Are friendly, outgoing, and comfortable meeting new people
- Are willing to take feedback and keep improving
- Care about social, environmental, humanitarian, or human rights issues
- Are comfortable working outdoors and being active
- Can reliably commit to at least 3 shifts each week
- Are currently enrolled in school
- Are at least 18 years old
- Experience in theatre or performance, customer service, hospitality, retail, campus clubs, student organizing, advocacy, sales, or canvassing is a bonus - not a requirement.
You'll earn:
- $20/hr guaranteed for every hour worked
- 5-hour scheduled shifts
- An opportunity to receive 2 additional hours of pay when you reach the daily fundraising threshold
- Paid training and ongoing coaching
- Additional performance incentives and opportunities for advancement
To qualify for the short-shift incentive, you'll need to work your complete scheduled 5-hour shift and meet the program's daily fundraising threshold.
If you don't reach the threshold, you'll still receive your guaranteed $20/hr for all hours worked.
