Outreach Coordinator

Job Description

RMPJC is seeking a skilled, dedicated, compassionate, motivated candidate to become RMPJC's seasonal outreach coordinator. RMPJC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1983. This will be an opportunity for professional experience working with a local non-profit.

The Outreach Coordinator job description includes support for three areas of RMPJC's work: outreach, communications and administrative tasks. RMPJC is a non-hierarchical worker co-op which values a workplace built on teamwork and cooperation. These are the three areas where the co-op currently needs the most support to continue building capacity. Therefore, the Outreach Coordinator will work closely with others on staff for a collaborative approach to current projects and building capacity for the organization.

The Outreach Coordinator will develop a work routine in collaboration with the administrator and campaign coordinators. Our progress will be reported on a steady basis at weekly staff meetings. This position requires teamwork skills, self discipline and initiative, relationship building, a passion for environmental and social justice issues, and a commitment to help maintain RMPJC's historic roots and framework of nonviolent education and action.

Responsibilities
  • Outreach Support:
    • Tabling Support: A key task will be to attend events with tabling materials and a sign up sheet. The follow-up tasks include routinely uploading sign-up sheets to Constant Contact and help to curate the contact list. This will involve working with RMPJC staff to support events planning and tabling.
    • Volunteer follow-up:
After tabling and meeting new people interested in getting involved, a key step is to follow-up with them about their interests. Collaborate with others on RMPJC staff to find the best way to onboard people who are interested in volunteering.
    • University Outreach:
Conduct outreach to increase awareness and collaboration with student groups and allied community groups. Find opportunities for collaboration with CU, Naropa University, and Front Range Community College.
  • Communications Support:
    • This will include routine tasks to synchronize digital outreach:

      • Radio updates
      • Direct outreach such as through text/email/Signal and other digital communications platforms
      • In-person outreach through flyers and 1-to-1's with other organizers
    • This involves an awareness of events in the community with a focus on coalition and alliance building.
    • A primary week-to week task will be synchronizing the RMPJC website with the weekly newsletters. We are also working on a new approach to digital outreach which doesn't rely heavily on social media. We'll work to co-develop strategies for base building and broadening the reach of our communications. We hope to improve public awareness, education and outreach opportunities.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Work with RMPJC staff to support tasks at the office such as thank you notes, organizing educational materials to be archived, tracking voicemails, donor database refinement, and fundraising support.
